Clinique have a great one....Sparkle Skin Body Exfoliating Cream.

    Really good stuff.

If you're looking for something DIY, I've heard olive oil mixed with sea salt is a great exfoliator!

And obviously, it's cheaper than cheap! I haven't tried it myself, as of yet! But I'd definitely be willing to give it a go!

I prefer gloves as well, cosmetics always seem to leave some residue and if you're in a hurry you always leave some of the scrubbing grains on your skin and you get itchy!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 159 ✭✭aidom

I like the soap and glory one. leaves my skin feeling really smooth :).

It can take ages to wash all the grains off though.

I'm a fan of the gloves as well.

I also use the facial exfoliator sponges (infinity make them, under 2 euro, pink scrubby thing, boots also make a nicer big white one) with a good strong cleanser on my face.

I've recently been using the scrubby gloves along with dove everyday scrub and have to say my skin is much softer after using it!!

the Garnier Skin tonic is brilliant, it has sugar parts in it so its nice and gritty. I got it half price in boots but i think its about €10.

    Gloves FTW!

Do you mean exfoliator for face or body? You need different products for each. I like Soap & Glory's Scrub of your life, but I also wouldn't be without my Muji washcloths. Origins Modern Friction is the best facial exfoliator I've ever had. I use a muslin cloth on my face daily for exfoliation and it makes a huge difference.

I'm surprised those gloves have so many fans. I found them very harsh.

They come in different types, from quite harsh to rather mild, so you can choose what you need. I can't use the harsh loofah ones but the softer fabric ones are brilliant.

Thanks. But I'm addicted to my washcloths now, they do an excellent job.

I use this, it's fantastic. Even if you haven't exfoliated in ages it will leave your skin feeling soft after a few quick scrubs.

EDIT: Just realised I use the green gel one, not the cream!

^^^^^ both the Clinique gel and cream are brill; the cream is slightly better tho.

I even had an ex use half a tub of the Clinique stuff sneakily:rolleyes:

    +1 on muslin cloths too!!

What's the difference between the two? I use the gel in the shower, find it great and it rinses off really easily.
I'm intrigued to try the cream now.

Got same in dunnes recently and they work a treat. Shower with lots of lather.

Yep the gloves are great, but to finish off and make my skin reeeeeeeeally smooth like a baby's bottom, I scrub with Boots Botanics Moisturising Sugar Scrub. Unbelievable stuff, especially if you've dry skin.

It's a pain to clean out the bath/shower after using it though, get the Cillit Bang/Mister Muscle out! It's worth it though, I think!

+ 1 for gloves. No ingrown hairs yet!

I get mine when I order my Liz Earle (http://uk.lizearle.com/) skincare products. I use them to wash off cleanser and masks, so I get some very gentle exfoliation every day.
I bought some before from Boots (they may have been from the Sanctuary) but they weren't as good as the Liz Earle cloths.
