Biggest score an any one hole

This thread came from a conversation from a fellow boardsie (that shall remain anonymous) and as I have had what can only be described as a major disaster I will get things going.

A few years ago, first year of proper golf and playing off my first official handicap of 12. Captains prize, Rathdowney Golf Club, par 5 6th hole, 1 over par gross on the tee.

Good drive, 3 iron, wedge through the back into major ****. Find ball, hit 4 th shot that tangles. proceed to hack out and eventually get the ball into the hole

Pick ball out of hole only to realise that I played the wrong ball for my 4th, so assumed a total of 10 shots in play and penalties (for every time the ball was struck which I now know was incorrect). An 18, including eventually taking an unplayable and getting up and down from nowhere on the 6th.


Played the rest of the round in level par, +1 for 17 holes, +13 for the other 1 hole and qualified.

Beat that!

The highest score I have ever had on a hole is a 6..... I lipped out for the 5.:D

I do remeber once a friend of mine missed a par putt on the first hole in a junior comp, The ball ended up about 6 inches from the hole, he picks it up and tries to hurly it with his putter and of course misses it. Me and the other guy start laughing so he does it again except this time he connects and the ball goes about 100 yards and onto the third. So now I get a bit annoyed at him and start telling him this is unfair to me and the other guy who are playing and then he comes out with a the line "its cool theres a rule that says I can replace it back to its original spot" and the three of us start cracking up. He finished out for a 15 or something with all penalties included. Funniest 15 I have ever seen. Scary part is he is a pro now so its going to be really funny and hypocritical when he gives out to the juniors and his club.

not the highest score I took but the most annoying.....i hit my second on a par four and it was all over the pin..it then hit the top of the flag stick and shot the ball 20 yards off the green into a water hazard..took a six while in the air I thought it was in the hole for two..worse case was birdie.....sickened..thats golf

14 on a par 4 worst ever in a stroke play event, also a 10 on the first hole again par 4 in an Intermediate Scratch Cup and still finished 5th winner was 3 shots better than me.

Playing off 24, I had 2 shots on a tricky par 5. My second landed 3 feet from the pin. Realising I was putting for 6 stapleford points, I 3-putted...awwww.
