Signing on proof

I'm signing on this month for the first time (I am already in receipt of JSB). However I don't have any physical proof that I have been applying for jobs. There currently are no jobs anywhere in retail and despite handing out CVs I have not gotten any PFO letters.

Will this be a problem when signing on? Can I just say I have been handing out CVs with no luck?

I have been asked for physical proof over the years but I've never had any to give them just told them I applied for jobs and got no responce.

Start keeping a list of shops & dates you handed in CVs to them.

Or, if you photocopy your CVs, you could ask for a receipt from the photocopying place every time you use it.

However, since it's so hard to get a job right now, the social are willing to believe that you've been trying without having any luck, moreso than they would have been when there was a job for anyone anyway.
