Im running a dell xps 1730 with dual 256 MB NVIDIA geforce 8700 with sli enabled. Having updated my drivers i now learn that there is a upgrade available for this laptop. The new 512 MB 9800 geforce graphics cards are suppose to increase performance on new games such as crysis by up to 50% .Does anyone using these new cards know if they are worth it?

Even the 8800gtx in SLI are a huge step up from the 8700GTs..and the 9800GTx are a step above them.
Definitely worth it but I think you could be looking at about €800 as you have to get a pair of the cards not just one.

Do you own a xps yourself? i was thinking of maybe getting a new computer in a few years...maybe a apple

tbh the idea of paying another 800e to install new graphics cards disgusts me.. i paid about 2600e when i got this laptop a year ago..with the same money today i can get a similar spec dell with the 9800 gtx upgrades..ugh i am never buying from dell again. Sorry for the rant im just venting

Yep I owned one...really excellent machine.
If you use it for gaming you can forget about an apple..no good for gaming unless you're playing World of Warcraft and maybe a few others.
