    The translation is

" This certificate symbolises that [insert name here] was a member of Company in the Fight of Ireland for freedom (possibly could mean War of Independence and Civil War times)"

To me it seems like to was given to a participant in the War of Independence and Civil War. But you could look at it at the fact that by Ireland staying neutral in WW2 that it was a way of fighting for freedom because i know that medals were given to the soldiers that served during the Emergency.

Well that my two cents anyway.
