    Hi All,i have a website where i sell timber playground equipment,i now want to start selling t-shirts,and maybe have a on-line raffle,do i need to have a permit in order to hold this raffle on-line,

    It depends what you mean by 'raffle'.

    AFAIK your local garda station, which deals with permits for collections, raffles etc... would be a good bet.

    Criteria would be (i think), where you're based (ireland or abroad), where your website is housed, whether people have to pay to enter the 'raffle' or whether its just a promotion (if the later, i don't think any permit is required).

    You should probably have a chat with a solicitor re the raffle. My understanding is that the legalities are much less stringent if you are not charging to enter the raffle and if no purchase is required in order to enter.

    For T Shirts you might want to have a look at http://www.cafepress.com and contact your local suppliers of promotional goods such as http://www.brightpromotions.ie/.
