not sure if this is in the right section but what would ppl suggest as a song that anyone of any age would sing along to.

my own possible choices so far:
    whiskey in the jar
    knockin' on heaven's door

'Dont stop believing' would be good if you could pull it off right

Love of my Life was always a great song played by Queen during an acoustic set during their concerts. The crowd would usually sing the second verse without the band. I'm sure there must be videos of this on utube.

also 500 miles was suggested by one of my mates

I used to do a version of 500 miles with a band, where we'd play two verses and two choruses, then stop and introduce the band over the chords, where everyone'd do a quick solo to show off musical stuff

500 miles is a real crowd pleaser

an acoustic version of Hey Ya by Outcast goes down really well, also I've used an acoustic version of don't stop me now which is quite good

Well, there's a lot of classics there as suggested. Some early Beatles always good too, "She loves you", "8 days a week". "Sunny afternoon" by The Kinks always guaranteed to go down too. Try acoustic versions of some new songs, although most are s***e, they will go down well I've found from experience. "Chelsea dagger" , Kings of Leon cack etc They have a short shelf life though, expect to only get a few months out of them.

    See ya on the road!
