just wondering if any one has heard of Ochsner's new heat pump called Ochsners millenium heat pump.Has any one installed it.The air heat pump is meant to be alot more efficient than their ground heat pump.Is this true.We are starting to build and we have to decide soon which heat pump we will use.Has any one used the Calorex heat pump, thanks

Air heat pumps are usually less efficient than Ground source! Don't know about the Ochner one but I would be surprised if it is or else their ground one has a really low COP.

if anyone wants to make specific recommendations / criticisms of the product specified, please keep it to a pm to the OP...
otherwise general debate of air source versus ground source is fine..

@ OP . That would be a first . ATW is less efficient than GSHP .

<SNIP> .Are you using the Air to water heat pump for your Domestic hot water also? What temp does it reach? I've read that the COPs drop drastically when heating to 55-60 degrees and also that most air to water systems will only reach around 55 degrees so would you need to use immersion once a week to heat to 60 degrees for legionnaires (if not using a lot of water)...or is this not really an issue?

My apologies <SNIP>. I did not wish to offend and mistakenly saw another post in another forum as advertising.

Thread tidied up and is locked as it is nothing more than a springboard for a certain individual and his company.
