Hi there first time poster to this.
Need some advice I have recently got a new job in Dundalk and i'm living in it with my sister. really appreciate the job but due to the facts i'm away from my normal home. I have no friends here . I cant afford to rent but My sister is great but I have noone to go out and have a friendly chat and a good time with. I know I could go out with my work mates but they all have a really strong bond and I'm quite and afraid to ask them. I want to join a club but my work schedule doesn't facilitate for it. Its really making miserable only see my friends once every few weeks only for a couple of hours.

Does anyone have any advice of how to meet new people.
Would be greatly appreciated. sorry if i sound stupid but its really getting me down as work seems to be the centre of my life without having friends to socialise with.,

Well maybe start a routine, go to the local every monday or weekend and say hello to everyone! Even if it makes you look mad!

This is the nub of your problem. I'm sure your workmates are just normal people like yourself. Bite the bullet.

hi there im from dundalk. i need more info ie asl what your music interest are what do you like to do in your time off. i can help coz i go back home everyfew weeks to meet with my old mates and u are more than welcome to join us.
if they are your mates dont be afraid to go and meet up with them and as the other people say just bite the bullet and get to no your new work mates. after all dundalk is a small place and you will meet them in one of the pubs or nu=ightclubs you never no you might meet the person of your dreams.
