i failed 2 subjects from the winter exams, and i assume i had to repeat them, but my friend from a different course had failed 2 as well, and his results just said 'repeat written exam'.

Can anyone tell me why this is. and how it affects me? I also havent been sent a letter asking me to register yet

    Thanks

    Hi!
What site are you in? I know the closing date for registration for the repeats was by the 17th July and the fee was €60. For late registration there is an extra €40 for every four weeks late you are.
I had the same issue this year. I rang the exams office because they hadn't sent me out even a transcript of my results or anything and I knid of knew because I was in a similar position last year...
What you have to do is ring the exams office ASAP and tell them that you have recieved no correspondance regarding the repeats and if your slightly arguementative try and suay them and you may not have to pay the additional €40 late fee....

Yes, you obviously have to repeat the exams that you have failed to progress into the following year/s of the course. Being honest, I would igonre your friends result as it's different across every faculty regardless of what people try to tell you.
If this helps, the repeats will be starting on the 31st of August, depending on what what faculty you in.
If you need any further help you can just send me a PM!

You can fail some exams and pass by compensation, so make sure that's not the case. I think it's something like over 30% for a single subject and over 35% for two subjects, with enough of an excess in other subjects to cover the compensation.

Thanks for posting that bit of info! was wondering this myself as I havn't recieved a timetable yet. I'm in DT228/2 myself and was under the impression it was end of august/beginning of september but didn't know the exact date.

I received the form today, with the July deadline crossed out with biro and an August date written next to it. Bit odd really. At least I shouldn't have to go in and argue my case for not paying late registration fees now.
