Its my forst year to have spuds in a long time. As I posted in a thread earlier, I planted the Sapro Mira. I have about a half acre. I haven't had to spray once. The stalks are huge. I have started to dig a few and find them nice floury potatoes. They are a good size, but should continue to grow for another month.

Plant the Sapro next year and you will have no problem with blight at all. Pure organic potatoes :)

    They're not GM,

The originated in the Czech Republic and are 99% resistant to blight.

No they won't grow if you cut the tops off. If the spuds are big enough I'd start digging. Rapidly.

If you dig them while they are infested with blight and put them into a heap, will they not all rot??

I'd be more inclined to spray them every couple of days.

Its prime weather for blight - warm and damp is what it loves.
