I do actually. Going into second year in September. Anything you'd like to know about it specifically?

    Cool, thanks.

How do you find the size of the class?
    Whats the workload like?
    Whats your favourite module?
Is it tough, do you like it?

    Thanks again lad

How do you find the size of the class?

The actual class size this year was about 50 people. You'll only ever see the entire class together in the core modules of the course and study skills in semester one. Optional modules can range from just having a few people to having a lot of people.

I thought the class size was great because its small enough that you can get to know everyone and big enough that you'll always find someone you know to sit beside in larger optional modules you might be in.
    Whats the workload like?

Well, that depends entirely on the modules you pick. Some are 100% C.A. while some are exam based. Assignments this year ranged from 1,500 words to 3,000 words plus. You should be grand as long as you don't let too many assignments build up. Personally, I had a lot of CA heavy modules so I only ended up having one exam at the end of semester one and one at the end of semester two.

    Whats your favourite module?

Hmm. I thought the Introduction to the Study of Languages modules were really interesting but the first part of it in semester one was really tough at times.

It all depends on what modules you pick and how much you put into it. Make use of the library, choose modules you think you'd like and it'll good out nicely.

Overall, I really like it. There's an interesting range of modules to choose and the people I've met are great too. Would totally recommend it.

Sounds great, would you recommend the study of languages module? Did you pick a language? Where do you see yourself after it?
Thats all I have to ask :D Thanks again

Its an interesting module but it all depends on what else you see yourself doing.

At the start of the first year of the course you pick four module strands of a potential five. In second year, you pick two strands to specialize in and a third strand as well. In the final year, you're down to your two specialized strands.

The Introduction to the Study of Languages is under the Language and Society strand. I had originally been down for Ab Initio German because I felt that after taking three years off from studying German I didn't have enough knowledge of the language to do the intermediate German module. However, I really didn't like the teaching style so I changed it to I.t.t.S.o.L,

I'm not sure exactly what I see myself doing but I'm veering towards media at the moment.
