It depends - the quality of stuff can vary hugely. Generally you'll know by feeling the material etc. Given that the prices are so cheap, it doesn't really matter if you buy something that's not of the best quality.

I call Pennys disposable clothes cause It doesnt really matter if something gets ruined as Its so inexpensive & wont cost you an arm & a leg to replace.

Frustrating shop, they do great pieces cheap but with no longetivity.

So.... if I got something there I really liked, I went with the handwash setting.

Yep, I see your point but the problem is the stuff is often very nice looking, and the stock is ever-changing bar some classics, so if that nice jumper gets stretched out or shrunk beyond recognition......

the jeans are bad, or maybe i'm just too fat? but the T-Shirts rock,Some of the jumpers, socks are great aswel, but everything else is cheap and i hate the feel of the filmsy clothes they sell

i think the quality is really good considering the price you pay for it. You really do get value for your money, BIG TIME. I have bought in Topshop, H&M, ZARA, RI and others and I have to say that there is no difference in quality,in fact oftentimes the Penney stuff is of better quality (perhaps except for jeans, i'll support Martinog there, ALthough, Although, having said that, they seem to have gotten better recently!) I find that, for example, a lot of Penneys skiits and dresses hava a petticoat on them, while in TOP SHOP, or RIVER ISLAND, you just get the top material , and that's it, so the skirt/dress pockets are riding on your legs- it is horrible! The issue with Penny's is their production ethics, which I have heard a lot about from industry insiders. Mind you, they are not the only ones who have low ethical standards (allegedly), you'd be surprised if you heard what other high street brands (and onesuoi pay good money for!) choose not to ask uncomfortable questions of the factories sewing their products, so as not to deal with the ugly truth...

The basic stuff, like jeans and plain t-shirts are pretty good.

I bought a pair of bog standard jeans there for €9 about 6 months ago, and got brilliant wear out of them :)

€5 for a couple of t-shirts and some socks.

I will not lose a night's sleep if they tear :)

    I like it!

Admittedly, some of their clothes aren't the best quality but surely that's reflected in the price.

A standard tank top in Penney's is 3-5 euro, in other high street stores, prices range from 6 euro to 15!

Penney's have a lot of good pieces. They've got increasingly better at keeping up to date with current trends and doing good copies of styles from the catwalk, at a fraction of the price.

Some of the clothes aren't the best fit, however, especially the underwear, so even if the queues are long, I'd advise you try before you buy!

Most of the time i find the clothes good, but when shopping for kids i find it difficult.i'd have to buy a size up and same with shoes. And find that with some items like long sleve tops, they shrink even with a low wash.
