Hi my PS2 has stopped working.

I can turn it on and it noe goes stratght to a new screen asking me to either select the memory cars or Disc,

if i select memory card i can only delete saved files off card.

if i select disc i get a new screen and can either select Browser OR System Configuration - neither launch any game.

have tried this with loads of different games and none of them are workinng.

any ideas on how to DIY fix this? I now have dozens of games and no consol!

    thanks

I would try to hoover it (vents disc tray etc first) then I would use a lens cleaner.

If none of that worked I would say you are goosed unless you the ability to open it up and mess with the lens adjustent.

Be happy its not a ps3 also!

As a by the way, my PS2 doesn't load discs straight away. It takes between 30-60 seconds for it to load one once it has hit the browser screen. Try that too.

Well, my ps2 (its old), has trouble with particularly scratched games where my brother's new PS2 plays scratched games alot easier.

I had the same problem, the lens is busted. I solved it by installing free mcBoot and loading games via usb
