    Hey guys,

Just wondering if someone knows how a "Graduate certificate" ranks in the grand scheme of post grad awards, UCD are offering some certificates, but I get the feeling maybe they are viewed as being a little, I dunno, weak?

As far as I know, it's the lowest level of post grad. I think it goes grad cert, grad diploma, higher diploma, masters. But I could be missing something.

It's still a qualification though. If you think it will help you in the long run then go for it.

It is as the other poster suggests, the lowest level of post-grad. The 'graduate' bit makes it sound quite important but all it means is that you need to have a primary degree to get one.

For example, any of the TEFL qualifications requiring a Primary Degree would be the equivalent of a Grad Cert. But that does qualify you to do something that you could not do without it, so depending on what the Grad Cert is it might be worthwhile.
