    Is Friday Dermot Weld Day?

    Media Queen
    Paydaar
    Reisk Superman/Knight Legend
    Casual N/R
    Sublime Talent
    Reflected Image (poor draw)
    Universal Truth (yesterdays big winner Bahrain Storm runs again as I type).

    Every day is Dermot Weld day in Galway !

    Looking out the window and the rain is hammering down in Galway and has been since I woke 2 hours ago.

    I'd be inclined to lay, stable not in great form and the Ruby factor will have him at a false price.

    Zeroberto looks interesting if fit (been off the track for two years aside from a run 3 months ago). Has form a few years ago on the track - might be wishful thinking he can recapture that though.

    Be careful of each way backing in the two small fields today. Lots of rain forecast for during the day could cut the fields down. Can't see Bahrain Storm running.

    How fast does Ballybrit drain? The rain should be past the west coast by late afternoon.

    Nina's ride Pipers Knowe and Dark Artic for me here

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 838 ✭✭✭FLOOPER

    Lads: I'm taking a bit of a pasting here over the last few days. That's about 7 races down in that time.

    Had Dark Artic e/w to help me stay afloat. Now my damage limitation is on Drunken Sailor.

    Hope that adage of "unlucky in cards......... holds true!

    whats happening with paddy power e/w terms for the 6.15?
    on one page 1/4 a place is quoted and on another 1/5 is quoted;
    links as follows:

    http://www.rte.ie/aertel/297-05.html

    http://www.rte.ie/aertel/607-02.html

    which price are they obliged to pay on?

    but the 'in-running' page quotes 1/5 a place!

    won't affect my bank balance but for the big time punters it could be a substantial difference.

    powers are 1/4 FOR ALL RACES IN GALWAY AFAIK

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 630 ✭✭✭bagels

    same thing happening with the next race, 1/4 a place on the 'early prices' page and only 1/5 a place on the 'in-running' page;
    i know non-runners are popping up but should this affect the fraction of the place payout?
    i'm a jennet so i don't know much about rule 4, if thats the correct rule i'm referring to;
    can an expert out there put me in the know, please?

    Same here. Had good form. So close at the end, the 1st would be nice. Couldn't pass that form with that price.

    Unbelievable how the money has come for that horse from 16's into 5's - I did it in a patent with Drunken sailor and Willies way and got the 16's - would be a nice earner if it wins!
