I live along the N6 outside (a good bit out) of Galway and is it just me or is there a hell of a lot less traffic this year as there was in previous years. I've only heard about 5 helicopters since Monday!

It just mostly seemed to be Executive helicopters apart from a Bell Longranger with US markings. Really quiet compared to previous years. They all seemed to overfly my house. Maybe even that was exec.

Dont forget Celtic Helicopters, remember the Green A109's and Bell's they are gone their owner handed back their air operations certificate in May 09 and now only provide hangaring services for helicopter owners who are mothballing aircraft.

4 landing pads whats the problem? when you have that amount of helicopters coming in and out it would take forever to get passengers loaded/unloaded with less than 4 pads.

No mon no fun. Hence the lack of traffic. Rotary aviation has taken a massive hit in the recession, especially for pleasure flights.

The Bell 222 seemed to be joyriding over the bay last night. Several flights back and forth around eight.

Things are quiet on the heli front. When I last passed through Exec helis, the hangar was full of obviously little used choppers.
