GF is not on any contraception..we are old enough to know better (43 & 39) but....

We did have penetration for a few mins without a condom a couple of weeks ago..I did not ejuculate inside her...nor was anywhere near it..
She's not feeling too well these mornings and period is due next week...mind you she was on some medication up to recently that may not have agreed with her...

Worried frantically that she coukd be preggers.........

    I know it's POSSIBLE...but chances of???????

BTW...wont be making that mistake again........

    Its possible but unlikely.

There is a school of thought that says it is possible to become pregnant from the 'pre-cum' (few drops of lube like fluid that comes out of the penis during sexual activity) but there is little scientific evidence to support this.

Viable sperm is not commonly found in this pre-ejaculate. What is more common seemingly is if the man uses withdrawal successfully and some sperm remains in the uretha and he has intercourse again without urinating in between.

Or there is some activity whereby the hands/fingers with sperm on it go inside the vagina.

    So, its possible but unlikely.

Also you don't say where she was in her cycle exactly but if her period is due next week, she will not be feeling any symptoms yet as any fertilised egg will not have implanted until 7-10 days after ovulation.

Another factor here is her age, women vary greatly but at 39 her chances are generally less than someone in her 20's.

She can now test up to 6 days in advance of her period if you are still worried!!!

Pregnancy Test put You & Her Minds at rest.

    Hi OP...

She hasn't even missed her period....

Also - at your ages it is unlikely (though technically possible) though I am wondering why the panic ... she is getting close to the end of her child bearing age... how is she, and you, feeling about children ?

    All the best

Yes, she could be pregnant. Do the test and put your minds at rest! Do you have the same feelings about having children? Are you both on the same wavelength? If nothing else it may produce some time for a bit of soul searching.

Hope all goes well for you...either way.
    Good luck.

Well then aren't you old enough to know that there's no point asking here on boards - the only one who can tell you is a pregnancy test and doctor!

    - It's highly unlikely she would be pregnant however so don't panic too much!

    Hi OP here..

Both already have kids..me one, she three..

I certainly DO NOT want any more.(living apart from one is quite enough..)..she however I reckon might just fancy one...we are only a few weeks together so hence the panic...

I reckon it's very unlikely but test might be a good idea..

Would test work reliabily at this early stage????

    Thanks all

based on info given, seems highly unlikely - go to boots and get a pregancy test - theres is one you can get that shows results up to 7 days b4 period is due, dont know which one, but im sure they will know in chemist if you ask

No there's not, hugely rare for implantation to have even occurred at this stage therefore the chances of picking up pregnancy hormones are very low.

There are ones that can tell you as early as 10dpo (4 days before it's due) but most of the time it won't show anything until the day of the missed period.

i think it is best to wait till the day of period (if missed). otherwise you'd be worried there wasn't enough hormone and so probably buy test upon test till period shows up.

it's unlikely she is pregnant though, but not impossible.

If it was a couple of weeks ago then it would likely show up with a pregnancy test.Get her to take one if you are that worried

As others have said, its unlikely, but by no means impossible.

pregnancy test should be positive at 14 days. buy two.

withdrawal is not advisable contraceptive method unless you are ok with accidental pregnancy if not acutally looking for it. neither is rhythm. neither is rhythm combined with body core temp.

condoms. pill. depot injection. mirena. male or femal tube tying. way to go.

condoms need to be used properly thou. other stuff idiot proof.

    sry correction

the pill is not idiot proof and needs to be used strictyl according to doc's advise too

She is only 39, I do not know how much of a chance there is that she could be pregnant but there is a chance that she could be...wait until her period is late (though it could be if she is worrying about it) and then do the test...they are not always reliable if you test early.
