    Hi there,

I'm involved in some businesses and all are in trouble. I'm so stressed I cant cope or function properly anymore. I don't know what to do. I get sick every morning and am not eating or sleeping properly.

I find it hard to go to work and face things. I am on medication and have attended a councillor. All I can see is the worst that can happen and I dread the coming months. I'm not sure I can get through it.

Can anybody help me. Has anybody gone out of business and could help me.

    Thank you

have you spoken to your accountant? he will be able to crunch the numbers for you and will be able to advise on winding up or trying to trade out of it. Clearily you have a responsibility to your suppliers and customers so the sooner a plan is in place the better for all concerned. I can only imagine that trying to sit on this wll eat you up.

Luckily I haven't - but the thing to remember is that you are not the first person this has happened to. Look at G. Hook by the way...

Try to get some prof advice on how to protect yourself and your remaining assets / family as soon as you can.
Also try not to spend all your time focusing on all this - it really will just pull you down.

I have seen parents friends go thru this yrs ago - saw how they nearly let it destroy them. But they got thru it once they got help so you can too.
FGS I think even R. Branson has been bankrupt a few times.

Don't look at it as being the end of the world - it could be a chance instead to start afresh...

But get the help fast so instead of dreaming worst case - you are prepared for what you will have to do over the coming weeks. How can you make the tough decisions if you are not properly informed...

As per the above comments- you do need to get professional advice on this.

There is no shame in having to admit that your businesses have failed- indeed it takes a lot of strength and courage to do so. An old school friend of mine is in a not dissimilar situation to you- and is in the process of seeking a voluntary liquidation of this business at present.

You and your life are seperate from your business- you have to make 'me space' where you can emotionally get away from the stress and panic of what is happening.

I'm very sorry to hear about your situation, I imagine its a terrible place to be right now.

I have no experience in running a business, but I have absolute respect for anyone who does. You took a risk in it and you are to be applauded for doing so, again, you have my respect. The fact that it didn't work out is no reflection on you.

I'm from a legal background and, if it looks like things are going to go bad, I'd say you should consider contacting your solicitor early on, if the nature of your business requires it ie staff, debts etc.

You mentioned that you fear the worst - this area of law is designed to allow you to start from scratch, in time, once you have cleared your slate.

If its any reassurance, the worst case scenario is basically that you will have to wait a while before starting again.

I wish you all the best, and I hope that things pick up for you soon.

    Keith
