Switched from Sky to NTL

Got it upstairs and downstairs and the YV pic downstairs (vid rec+) is def not as good as upstairs, both TVs are LCD Sony's so that is not the problem, it turned out to be I had to lower the quality on the NTL box to composite from RGB, surely it should be the other way round!
Think the guy used my Sky conn to use in the NTL box (hard to get at the back of my mounted TV)
Pic acceptable now but Sky def was better.

One other slight problem is that I also got BB and for some reason it's really messing around with my IRC, it keeps disconnecting!
Anyone else have any of the above issues?

You should have kept the Sky box & Dish for all the Free channels.

They had no right to use your Sky coax or SCART.

Free Satellite (Sky out of sub) gets all the BBC & ITV, C4, Five. More channels and higher quality basic UK line up.

Post about the BB issue here.

UPC use higher data compression (lower bitrate) for their channels than sky, with the result that the quality suffers.

One of the reasons I got rid of Sky whom I'm with from the very beginning when they 1st stepped foot in Ireland is that the prices just kept going up and also I live in flats and believe it or not my dish has been battered twice!
1st time a neighbour above me and I'm not sure which threw a settee over their back balcony and my poor dish suffered and it cost me a few bob!
2nd time and I kid you not this only happened a few weeks ago a bit of masonary from the top of the flats came away and hit the dish!!
No way was I forking out a 3rd time, another problem was since I got the new Sky HD box (my 2nd) this one had started playing up in many ways and finally when we have atmospheric weather often the picture would suffer.
I'm now getting used to the picture and tbh it's her that watches TV mostly, I wanted the BB primarily.
