I wasn't sure if this question would be better asked here or in tLL.

My cousin got engaged in february but they want to wait a few years before tying the knot (she just finished 1st year in college and wants to complete her academics first) so we're looking between 3-5 years before the big day. My question is, when should I throw her a hen party? Soon? Or closer to the day itself? I'm really stumped and have no idea what to do! :o Thanks in advance for any tips! :D

I think you are jumping the gun a bit! the hen is usually close to the wedding, the idea being the last night out as a single woman, so to have it now, possibly 5 yrs before the event would be a bit premature! I doubt many people would go thinking of it as a 'hen' but just as a night out. Wait until they have set a date and a few weeks before the big day arrange the hen.

That's kind of what I thought but when a friend asked if I'd started looking into it yet I got a bit worried! Phew :P

    Thanks so much! :D
