just wondering am i entitled to a maintenance grant. Am a mature student living at home with my mother. My parents are seperated a few months ago. I would be entitled to a grant just on my mothers earnings but not the both together. Does the seperation make me entitled to it or do they have to be seperated longer.

    I'm not entirely sure tbh.

    BUT

If you filled out the grant application form anyway and sent it in then they will decide whether you get it. It may seem like a waste of time but at the very least you may get your registration fees paid.

You are assessed on your family's 2008 income so you'll probably have to include your father's income on the application. However, you might be able to avail of a "Change of Circumstances". But you would have to provide proof of the separation.

I would recommend contacting your local council/vec about this.
