I'm interested in taking up rugby and CYM is my local team, does anyone play for them, or have you played? What's it like?

I'm 33, unfit as can be and haven't played for about 17 years, I was a second row and I'm 6'7". Is there a place for me in an entry level team? when is training and what do I need to bring? How much does it cost?

Ok, lots of questions there! Feel free to PM me or reply here.

    Cheers!!

There is definitely a place for you in CYM. Hopefully we can lift ya :D We have two teams, J3 and J4. I only joined last year and found the quality of training very good. Lads are all sound. Training on tuesdays and thursdays. Preseason started the week before last. Because we share the grounds with the cricketers, we are doing preseason in Bushy at the moment. We will be back on the CYM pitches in September, and thats when the proper training will start.

I will PM you the e-mail of the team manager, he will send you all the official info.

Thats what impressed me last year, was when I contacted them, they were very organised and explained everything very well.

That continued onto the rugby pitch which is why I stayed. I didnt find the same in my previous club, which is a large Dublin club, that only cared about AIL and the higher J level teams.

There is training in Bushy at 7pm both tonight and tomorrow night. I dont know how many people will be there tonight as we already had a preseason session last night.

Look forward to meeting you at training :)
