"Decent Pair" and "25-30 euro" don't really mix.

The best bang for buck I've seen is the Motorola XTR446, they're in pixmania.e for about 80 quid for a pair.

I have the XTR446's and would recommend them. I picked up a slightly used pair on eBay for €50, so keep your eye out and you might find a pair.

That is cheap. In fact, that's a downright steal. I paid €290 for my XTN originally (similar type, since replaced with a new model). It lasted me about six years of heavy use and only succumbed when it was run over by a Land Rover. I bought an XTX around the same time as a back-up and I'm still using it eight or nine years later. Excellent range, crystal clear transmission, reliable and rugged. These are the things you want in a radio and these are the things you pay for.
The range on those cheap €20-40 radios is about 500 yards in line of site. That meaning, if you can't see who you're talking to, you can start taking chunks out of that range and will dramatically reduce the quality and clarity of the transmission. They also have awful reliability due to skimping on cheap parts (particularly the oscillator) and, sometimes, dry solder joints.
Head for eBay and find a pair of decent Motorola radios from the XT series for about the €60-70 mark and you'll benefit immediately.

Pity Lidl dont have any good ones on special offer right now. They do some very good ones, and some not so good ones.

Overall though, its probably worth your while ordering a basic Moto online. I hate their phones, but their radio kit is good stuff.
