    Hi there,

    have had a few recent problems re phones and my toddler. I loved my old sony erricsson i80 (think thats what it was) but my daughter had a habit of sucking the bottom of it, and it died on me about 4 weeks ago, and was told it wouldnt be worth getting fixed.

    Had to get new phone at short notice, and opted for nokia 5130 as no obvious bits she could ruin... Well, I found it fine, functional enough and did more or less what i wanted. she obviously didn't, as she threw it down the toilet the other day. I have tried to dry it out, but its not working at all.

    therefore, need to get another new one, and due to the last two episodes, don't want to invest too much - in case she has other plans. The following are what i would like/need and any recommendations would be appreciated.

    * features pref 3.2mega pixel or higher camera & FM radio
    * Form factor - not worried by what kind - sturdy preferably.
    * Internet - not important as will only be using this infrequently
    * Operator - 02, pre-pay
    * Price range - limit €150

    was kinda looking at the lg cookie, but see there is bad reviews here, so looking ath nokia 6303 maybe? don't know anything about samsung/other brands as have only used sony ericsson/nokia in past, but would be happy to go elsewhere!

    You could go for the Sony Ericsson C510 for €139 on O2 prepay which fits practically all your criteria, e.g. 3.2 megapixel camera, FM radio etc. I have the phone and can highly recommend it.

    Alternatively, you could go for the dust and water resistant Samsung Solid B2100 for €89, also on O2 prepay. It only has a 1.3 megapixel camera, but it does have an FM radio and is sturdier and, hopefully, more toddler-proof due to its design and water resistance; whether it holds up to your child sucking on it is a different story. ;)

    Thanks for that Rsaeire,

    The thing that would put me off the sony is the connection to the charger. that is what was sucked the last time, and eventually caused water/saliva damage.

    i looked at the solid, but the camera is really not up to much.

    OP have a look at this: http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055616628

    Its not out yet though, also if you want to really cover the options you may want this:http://www.boards.ie/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2055616049 but its bit out of budget.

    I was thinking if you dont want to spend as much as the other 2 i suggested, this is more of a basic/cheaper phone if you can live with the 1.3 camera. Its only €89 after all ;)

    If you dont like it on vodafone , yu could get it sim free for use with o2.

    One option would be http://www.expansys.com/d.aspx?i=180497

    I tried suggesting that handset too, but the OP seems to really want a good cameraphone. ;)

    Just ask if the store have any old dummy phones! Nice phone for daddy, nice (fake) phone for toddler :)

    They can be hard enough to come by you'd be amazed the number of little scrots who actually rob those dummy handsets. Also when you consider the number of customers who handle them before the store is ready to throw them out, I'd say only go with a new one if you can get your hands on it.

    There's also the JCB phone but you'd have to buy it sim free, it's bright yellow so unfortunately it'd be even more attractive to you daughter.
