I have had some health problems in the past few years that have led to a serious weight gain. I am about 5 11 and wigh 14 stone :( (very depressing i know)

Anyhoo, I need some motivation as to how to go about shifting this extra three stone and getting back to myself. Have already tried weight watchers and things like that but to no avail. Would love to just go and get a personal trainer but when I looked into it it was going to cost about a grand and im afraid im a student!

Any advice really welcome. Any ways of getting online support?!

Just reading through more threads and thought that I should add this....

    My usual diet consists of:

Breakfast: Two wheatabix with low fat milk
lunch: An omelate or Cereal or maybe a sandwich
Dinner: A medium potato, chicken and veg or pasta, sweetcorn and tuna

snacks: mostly fruit or a scone, maybe the odd biscuit but not every day

First of all the most important part is it sounds like your health is on the up - isn't that more important than a little extra weight.

Second sounds like you have the drive to lose the weight.

I'm far from the ideal weight for my size so I'm no expert.

I would suggest walking to begin with, the most important part is to enjoy the exercise. If you can buddy up with someone to offer each other encouragement and to "drag" to other along when the last thing they want to do is exercise.

Anyway good look and remember the most important person is the one on the real side of the mirror not what you see in the glass.

could anyone maybe suggest a cheaper alternative to a personal trainer? Walking at home sounds like a great idea but im not around enough to commit to that with anyone, I do have a threadmill in my house as well as a wii fit.. how can i utilise these to the best of my ability? Also is there anything I should change about my diet?

How do people manage to stay motivated?! THats my main problem, I find it so hard to give that extra 10% to really make the difference

I use a little book, some years.
Just to record numbers of repetitions of weights etc.
Often, I ask the girl to put eurosport on tv when I'm doing cardio.
    Bluddy love eurosport.

With the treadmill you could do HIIT(google it)... I personally found that i was able to lose fat quicker and in addition my fitness levels increase although i did it with a rowing machine

In order to stay motivated i would recommend writing down goals and meeting them in a certain period for example losing a pound a week.... or else you could take pictures of yourself each week, this way you could see your results which will keep you motivated and hopefully this could encourage you to lose weight..

I do that. For my back developement. Sounds a bit funny.
Get your camera phone out and put the timer on, then tuck it into your waistband, standing in front of, or with your back to, a mirror.
Presto, a record of your progress this week.
