    eBay for the smaller things.

Bonnet would be harder to find. Those cars are pretty much extinct in this country now.

As regards bits a trip to a long established Opel dealer may be
worth a try. I went into Kanes in Edgeworthstown,Longford when
I got My Manta a few years ago and was amazed at the amount
    of old stock they had.
As well as TotalOpel sign up on mk1oc.com .

I've always been a fan of the Kadett D, but seriously, the bones of €5,000 for an absolute bottom-of-the-range two door? Even if it had only 1,000 miles from new, all of them driven by the Pope, it still wouldn't be worth this much.

I'd say €900 to €1,000 would be a more reasonable asking price for this car.

It's been for sale quite some time now.

    I'd say it'll go for between 2 and 3k

Agreed. The round head lights give it away. Back in the day even in countries populated with tight persons - hardly anyone bought this low a spec.

It was the vast quantity of blanking plates on the dashboard that gave it away for me (I thought the clock was standard, but apparently not).

I remember when these were a common sight on the roads too, and you almost never saw a round-headlight one. The original owner of this one must have been particularly tight-walleted. :)

Well spotted. I had skimmed over the ad and until now I hadn't even looked at the other pics. I was wondering how you knew it was a 2-door and not a 3-door :D

If my memory serves me right, the 1.2S with 60BHP wasn't the lowest of the low, the 1.2N was with a mere 53BHP :D

Mind in some markets the base model had a 1l engine

My father bought a brand new 1.3S caravan (stationwagon) (3 doors!!!) in that exact same rusty brown / red metallic colour also in '82.

I had thought that it was the earlier model that had the round lights and then the later model got the squares. Learn something new every day

As far as I know, the Vauxhall Astra models never had the round headlights, only the square ones.
