Given that SBC is Jewish, with strong links to Israel, does anyone think that he's going too far when he's taking the piss out of various Islamic groups? With his Borat character from Kazakhstan, where the Muslim population is about 75%, and now with his Bruno character where he went out of his way to upset a few more, only this latest bunch being a bit more highly strung.

Needless to say, he's had death threats over both of these characters.

I found the Borat character amusing, but don't find Bruno at all funny, as if SBC is trying too hard to shock instead of going for laughs.

I don't believe that interview in 'Bruno' supposedly with the Palestinian guy was genuine.

Since when do Islamic terrorists give interviews to blonde guys with TV cameras? And as for those 'death threats' - come on folks get real.

    .

I saw Bruno last week and though it was great. He offends Christian groups just as much as he does Muslim. In fact I thought the Jewish and Muslim interviewee's came off a lot better than the Christian gay converters.

Were the Muslims interviewed in the film really as 'highly strung' as the homophobes at the straight Dave cage fight? Or the hunters who started hitting and smashing the camera?
From what I recall there was only two Muslims interviewd. The first was the Palestinian who totally went along with the hummus joke. Second was the member of Al-Aqsa Martyrs’ Brigades who calmly told Bruno to leave his house

The media has focussed on the Muslims world outrage and reaction to this film beacuse they are obsessed with painting all Muslims as fanatical, party poopers to someway justify wars that are continuing in Afganistan,Iraq etc. However, there has been enormous Christian outrage to this film too. Considering these are the same groups that murder abortion doctors, I would be a just as worried about them If I was Sacha Baron Cohen.

He offends EVERYONE...dunno how he has the balls to do so but props to him I guess haha I would never have the nerve to do half the stuff he does.
