Visa card start date detail missing

    Anyone got a visa card which has the expiry date but no start date?

    This hadn't been a problem until today a website won't accept my card unless its got both.

    Did you try to make up a start date, they are usually only required for debit cards and not used when authorising transactions.

    If the web site is insisting on it, it might think your card is a Visa debit card..

    My AIB Visa credit card has a start date, but I've never been asked for it as far as I can remember.

    I put in the start date from my previous card which I still had in my memory somewhere, it worked. Wonder why they dropped it though.
