    Hi,

I have browsed the site and searched around and not really got the advice I was looking for. To give you a background. I am married about 5 years and 3 kids. My wife had post-natal on baby 2 and took a while to deal with it. Then all was fine and we had baby 3 about 16 weeks ago.

Problem is that my wife can get very angry. We had a huge row last Wednesday and she was physical. She gets so worked up that she lashes out. Now I am not an angel and I can rise her a bit so I put my hand up. We love each other but go through bad patches.

I know and she agrees that this is not post natal depression as it has been going on for years before kids arrived. She can be really rude with some members of the public and when areguing she would not care who is around. I would be conscious of our neighbours and friends not seeing us argue but she gets in such a rage she wouldn't care. She would even hit me in front of the kids and be really nasty to them when angry. Anyway she has agreed to get some sort of anger management. I know most advice is go to your gp, but we feel that we know what we want and want to source it ourselves rather than have the gp give us his buddies number or look up a directory and pick a random number. Nothing against him but he would probably throw the old post natal into the situation, but as I said this has been going on for years. She really wants to change as we had a chat about the kids could end up ruining their lives seeing her like this and thinking it was normal. Thats when it finally hit home with her.

We want the best treatment for our situation. So any suggestions on what to do. I looked on google for an hour and there are a few councellors but I would love to hear fellow users experiences. Maybe we are blind and stupid not going to gp, but like I said I feel we know what we need. She really wants to do it, and I feel that this is what she needs. She is the best friend to so many people and would do anything for them. Never ever talk down to them, treat them bad. But when I would ask her a question she would sometimes be rude when answering. It breaks my heart.

Anyway. Thats it and thanks in advance.

'Anger Management' is really just a new term for cognitive beharioural therapy. Anger being just one of the negative emotions CB therapists help manage.

Did you google CBT cos Im sure there are loads of them
