Which of these would you go for, as a basic mp3 player with a radio for jogging/listening on train, etc?

    1. Sandisk Sansa Clip 2gb or 8gb
    2. Creative Stone Plus

Is the smaller screen and scrolling text on the Stone Plus a real drawback in practice? Is the sound and battery life decent on both of them?

I'd go for the Sansa Clip, the Creative is older technology and I've had issues with the batteries in two of the Creative players (Stone and Stone+).

Yeah, I've been reading some online reviews and the Sansa Clip seems to have the edge on a lot of areas alright

Where is the best place to buy a Sansa Clip i.e. best value?

Beware, I noticed the 1GB and 2GB Sansa Clip DO NOT mention Flac and Ogg as part of their features, if you'd like that ability. It might just be the higher capacity models that support them.

Don't forget, Rockbox supports the Sansa Clip.. and there's Beta firmware that supports Apple's .m4a format, as well as a host of extra features.

I'm mooching about for a Clip or a Fuze, haven't made my mind up yet. Prices are silly in the US at the moment, $50 for the 8GB Clip.

No problem using an Apple Shuffle, but I am tired of iTunes since switching to Foobar more or less full time.

Xtra-vision have the 8GB Sansa Clip for 59.95. To be honest I expected it to be more.

The Sansa clip supports .ogg and .flac, which is unusual for such a player, beware, it does not support the standard iTunes format, namely, Apple's .m4a audio format, but does support generic .aac.

I can't get my head around the price of the Creative Stone Plus. 4GB player with screen for 29.99. The Stone player seems to bring out pure love or pure hate from the owners, so.. read a few reviews..

    I have 2 Clips a 2 and 4gb. 2gb wasn't enough I found, so I bought another. That 8gb has me tempted too :)

I use them for the gym, and the sound quality when paired with my sennheiser cx300's is second to none, which is surprising for such a small unit. Battery life is long enough, never actually measured it though. Never used a Creative stone so can't comment on that.

I have the 8gb sansa... after years of problems with various creative mp3 players. Go with the sansa
