Inglorious Basterds. Even the underwhelming cast cannot subside my thirst for this movie.

It is a tough call. Having seen the poll I'm still going to stick with Inglorious Basterds but having said that I am also looking forward to Shutter Island, District 9, and Avatar. Sherlock Holmes and The Road will definitely get a cinema visit too. 2009 looks to be ending strong.

cutting it close there Mr Cameron...Cutting it pretty fine indeed.

to be honest 2009 has been pretty underwhelming so far.

Off the top of my head only Moon, Coraline and Drag Me To Hell have really satisfied what i was looking for (im sure ive missed something..cant think what though).

Of the poll, Where the Wild Things Are proably excites me most, although Avatar, Shutter Island, District 9and The Lovely Bones look like they could be great in their own right.

Im not a fan of Tarantino although i know ill go and see Inglorious Basterds for exactly those reasons!

Im also looking forward to seeing Antichrist this week, Orphan and Sin Nombre in the coming weeks too.

Shutter Island, loved the book, trailer looks great.

Avatar for me. Cameron has done it before with his sci-fi (Titanic was an aberration) and he can do it again. His use of 3D will be crucial.

The Road was a brilliant book but I have seen the movie trailer and I'm not so sure about the adaptation.

Saw Tarantino on JR at the weekend and they showed clips of Inglorious Basterds, looks interesting alright.

Let's face it, 2009 has hardly set the world alight so far with any of the blockbuster releases. Star Trek probably stood out but that wasn't difficult.

Inglorious Basterds and District 9 are the standout ones for me, but this thread prompted me to see trailers for Shutter Island and The Road as well for the first time, both look very interesting.

You're going to have to take The Lovely Bones out of that poll, it's not released over here till the end of January.

Avatar is well ahead i think its crazy for a film with no proper trailer and that relatively little is known about . Its a good sign
