Sky box on the fritz

    Hi,

I'm starting to get failed recordings on my Sky+ box. It's behaving as if it only has one input source - i.e. if it's set to record two inputs simultaneously and the sky box is switched off only one of the recordings will work. The other will fail with a Clashed warning. If I have the Sky box switched on and am watching one channel with another set to record the recording will fail with a reason of No Signal. But when I check the signal status it tells me that there are strong signals coming in on both input 1 and input 2.

Is there anything else I can do to troubleshoot the box or should I just write it off and replace it?

    Thanks.

    R

i.e. if it's set to record two inputs simultaneously and the sky box is switched off only one of the recordings will work

if you leave the box on one of the channels it will record both.

if you want to record rte1 and 2 at the same time ,

switch off the box and just make sure its on one of the channels.

( you can watch a recorded program and record 2 channels at the same time)

Thanks for the replies lads but maybe I'm not being clear enough. If I want to record rte 1 an rte2 at the same time and I set the box to be on rte1, the rte 2 recording will fail with a No Signal error. It used to work fine but not any more. I think it's on its last legs.

Go in and do the signal test, make sure you're getting signal from both inputs. That'd be the first thing I'd do.

He's tried that already, sounds like he needs to give Sky a bell.
