You could get the train as far as killarney, you may have to change trains at mallow there used to be a bus eireann service from killarney to Caherciveen, get a taxi from Caherciveen to Valentia ferry (its only a few mins drive) onto the ferry and your there

Check the bus times though , no point hanging around Killarney for ages, last ferry to valentia is 10 pm
