supplements needed?

With increased training load lately (~35miles/week), have noticed that I've lost some weight, not that much, but I don't want to go below 70kg. I thought I was eating enough to compensate but maybe I'm not?

A friend of mine who plays hurling said he takes something after each training, but I can't remember name of it...

Do ye take any supplements to compensate for all the running training?

I take Whey Protein every now and then. I probably should take it more often but I get lazy. Anyway, you should take it within 30mins of training. It should help your muscles recover a bit quicker for the next day.

The best mix I´ve found so far is: Whey Protein (vanilla flavour), a handfull of oatmeal and water. Into the blender and it actually tastes pretty good.

if a hurling team is taking a recovery product its probably lucozade recovery mix or provon revive. Like anotherworld says its important for muscle repair and development to get protein into you quickly, but you need carbohydrate as well so you can replace glycogen used up in training. Your best options are to take a recovery mix product, a chocolate milk drink or even low fat milk after every significant session, you should also keep an eye on the general level of protein in your diet as the volume of your training increases.

I generally make sure I have a protein rich meal after training or a protein shake that has a decent % of carbs.

made myself a tuna+chickpea salad for lunch today, bit of chilli powder with it, was pretty good, will try+have this before harder sessions.

also stopped off to local centra to try the chocolate milk thing. took it straight after the tempo run. figure I need to eat a bit more alrite+sounds like I need more protein from your replies...
