i got married 3 weeks ago and we had a drunken waiter first at the meal, he was very good and had everyone laughin, and before the music started we had a guggling act all from the same company. it was called brillant promotions, it wasnt expensive but it was all some crack, i higely recommend it

Hi - we're thinking of getting a caracaturist for the wedding. We're just wondering for which part of the evening would be best.

We have about 1.5 hours between the ceremony and the meal in the hotel.
We'll be off running around getting photos and the guests will be having tea/coffee.

    - but maybe the guests will want to be freshining up, having a chat, mingling etc.

I'm just concerned they'll be so scattered that they won't notice, appreciate or give the time over to the poor guy!

So the I thought it might be best to until after dinner. You know that lull period before the band/dj . Also that gives the guy a little more time to dedicate to people and we won't be dragging people away from the guy to get their photo done etc?

Also, we have a singing waiter for during the meal - looking forward to this. We thought it would be a little less offensive than a drunken waiter could potentially be!!!

Has anyone any experience with this?

    THANK YOU

I hate the idea of a caracaturist! I find them so offensive, and they just make a mockery of you. I know it's meant to be "funny" them doing a picture exaggerating the distinctive features of each person, but I just find it really insulting. I just don't like them. And I think the idea of them at a wedding is cringe, guests will be running away from the caracaturist.

How constructive Tinkerbell thank you for your input.
Although I wasn't asking anyones opinion on whether they liked or disliked a caracaturist... I was asking as regards wedding entertainment would one consider it more beneficial during tea/coffee immediately after the ceremony or in the lull period after the meal before the band....

I suggest if you haven't any thing nice to say Tinks... then DON"T

gotta say i love the idea of a comedian on early. Never considered that before its certainly food for thought. Had thought of a magician alright but a comedian shounds like great fun.

Has anyone any idea how much the singing waiters cost for a wedding???:)

Hi i think the three singers cost around 2000 for 30 mins but you can get 1 for 600. Rough figures only going from my sister pricing them for her wedding.

I cant believe people still think these are acceptable forms of entertainment at a wedding its all a little trashy and desperate. Its the same nonsense at every single wedding ive ever been to, the same food, the same flowers the same dresses, the same bands playing the same pathetic music. Its like groundhog day, surely someone out there can think of something more original for their wedding other than a comedian or a drunken waiter for petes sake:confused:
