When can we expect the 2010 bikes to be out and... when do shops tend to start selling off their old stock?

Interesting question and though I don't know the answer I'd imagine that it'd generally be late enough in the final quarter before retailers start stocking up on new inventory.

That said, I can't imagine there being much by way of excess 2009 stock remaining at the end of the year, certainly not for the mainstream bikes around or under the €1k mark due to the unprecedented levels of demand from the Cycle To Work scheme.

I know Specialized have released a few 2010 models (Hardrock and Allez at least). My wife is waiting for a Vita hybrid.

Id expect to see some in september, with proper stock levels coming in october and november.

Specialized seem to be ahead of the game this year though:)

I wouldnt expect too much from the sales, anything decent has been sold, racers and hybrids are quite popular although Id expect to see good deals on +1k bikes.

I heard Bianchi are releasing the new Infinito early. The Specialized SL3 tooks tasty, still no ISP.

Where's that winning Lotto ticket again?

I think Specialized might have a 2010 Langster out already, and some of the new Secteur bikes as well (the aluminium version of the Roubaix). The new Trek Madones seem to be coming on stream too. From what I recall, that's quite early compared to previous years, and does seem to be in response to the 2009 supplies selling out, so the sales may be a bit limited.

As far as I know this has been a bumper year for racing bikes so if you're waiting for an end of year special you're choices will be pretty limited. As far as I know most of the treks and giants are gone.

I bought my trek 1500 on special when the prices fell at the end of 2007. The specials are usually released around september. Almost time to break open the piggy bank :-)
