Its what we call a varient of hold 'em in college, said to be created by one of the lads from ....drumree.

Players receive 5 cards as in draw, a round of pre betting, after all calls are made any remaining players drop any one of their 5 cards.

Now we have 4 hole cards.

A community flop in delt, first to act bets/checks, after all calls/checks are made, any remaining players drop any one of their 4 cards and the turn is delt.

Now we have 3 hole cards and 4 community cards.

A further round of betting, after all calls/checks are made the remaining players drop another card and the river is delt.

Now we have 2 hole cards and a full board of 5 community cards, a final round of betting and if a showdown is reached the best hold'em hand wins.

Is this already a form of poker, if not you heard it here first, I think a lot of people will like this game due to the gamble side of dropping a card, maybe splitting that pair in hopes of a bigger hand, and the similarity to hold'em.

    Thoughts please....

    Sounds exactly like Irish/Pineapple Poker.

Although the version we played you kept all 5 hole cards til flop, then discard two (after a round of betting), then another on the turn.

    Great game! :)
