We have opened the washing mashine and cleared out all the coins etc that were stopping it from emptying the water .

It worked fine for a few days and now it won't spin .

Checked again and nothing stuck init.

It is taking and emptying the water , but will not wash/spin

Anyone know what could be wrong ?

    Its a Hotpoint WMA50

ya sounds like the motor id say especially if its doing everything but spin the drum. mite cost a bit to get service man etc to do it tho unless u try get one somewhere yourself. but im not certain if thats it.

    Might be the control box.

Thanks lads , I have taken out all the coins and bra wire that was inside the wee motor ,

but it looks like i aint gonna be able to fix thos one myself .

Am just wondering if I could have hit disconnected a wire , while opening the filter ., but everything looks ok , and it does make noise as i said when switched on , just will not spin

might be the motor brushes, sometimes they wear out with the same result.unless your handy wit the old toolbox, call a serviceman.the brushes are generally fitted either side of the motor and held in place by some sort of spring loaded clips, hope this helps.

More trouble with this washing machine................

I put it back together again and it actually worked . ( done a rinse and spin - and it spinned )

Now we put on a wash and it wont work again.

Does this sound like a brushes in motor problem ?

when you done the rinse and spin the machine was prob empty of clothes ?

when you filled it with clothes it wouldnt work ?
