    hi,
as part of my training and mission to sculpt and build my body, im counting calories protein carbs fats and fiber out of the foods im eating,

one thing that is getting to me is the difference in nutrition values on different branded foods,
for example flavins porridge 65g dry is kcal 155 pro. 4.7 carb. 27.2 fat 4.1

while harvest morn from Aldi 65g dry is Kcal 228.1 Pro. 7.4 Carb. 39.7 Fat 4.2

it makes a big difference in the counting,

    any body any ideas???

my daily count is Kcal 1800 Pro. 300g Carb 200-250g Fat 25g

sorry sud of stated my problem more clearly

there obviously the same ingredients, just oats - so if there just oats how does oats from one brand get different reading from another brand???

Oats will vary a little between brands. However it should not be this much. I think you might have made a mistake. Always try and compare the per 100g info, which is a % as it is 100g.

I think your flanhavans reading is not for 65g. Since if it was 65g and 27.2g carbs it means 100g would be 41.8% carbs, and this is too low.

I would guess it is really info for a 45g serving.

My Flahavans oats are 386 kcals / 100g so 65g would be 251 kcals - similar to the Aldi brand.

That would mean the OP's portion size is 40g, which is the around the usual quoted size, but NOT the usual that is EATEN. It is good to see Aldi using a more realistic typical size, I would usually have ~50g myself, but I add in whey too,

I don't know rubadub, I would have thought 40g is quite an average serving of oats made as porridge for most people?? I have 35g and could not imagine eating more tbh!
