I've tried to enjoy it but I just can't.

Why is the sport so popular? There's never anybody at the matches!!

You don't like cricket - nobody cares.

personally I like cricket because I've always played it, 19 years this year, you have to understand it to get the most out of it. I can understand why people don't like it, it can be a very difficult game to get into. I sometimes find it tough to watch but love playing

Cricket is like a good yarn, full of plot and subplots.

I got into cricket initially, partly, because I'm a bit of a contrarian and I liked the idea that most people dismissed it. Having said that I remember getting sucked into watching test matches during lazy summer days as a teenager and as I watched more and learned more about the game I liked it more...and of course now I don't just like it..I love it (continuing the theme:)).

You can't beat cricket for drama and you can't beat cricket for a great day out with a few mates, drinking beers, banter with folks around you in the crowd. I've brought a few non-fans to games in the last few years and they were all converted by the end of the day. I dragged my missus to a one-dayer at the SCG a few years back and she brought a book and some suncream. The book was never opened and she was drinking white wine by the pint before lunch (purely a logisitics thing related to distance from nearest bar of course).
