Audiobooks playing in order

I've been trying for ages but cannot get this to work so any help would be appreciated.

I have an 8 CD Audiobook. I've ripped it to iTunes and put it on my iPod.

When I go into audiobooks on my iPod (80gb Classic) it isn't organised by album but by track and I haven't a clue how to get it to be by album. It looks like this:
    • Chapter 1 (Of disc 1)
    • Chapter 1 (disc 2)
    • chapter 1 (disc 3)

    and so forth

    Can anyone help?

Hmm, yeah I think I know what you mean although I've not ripped an audiobook from CD, and I apologise in advance if doesn't help. I've around 20 audiobooks on my iPod which are all downloads/bought.

I've confused myself in pausing/playing them at times because I'm not always confident what the iPod says is actually where I've stopped/I want to pick up. Resume, Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3, Chapter 4, etc (when listening to track 2 of 3 and similar when on 3 of 3 and so forth.

You have probably tried it, but just check that the file settings are in order, audiobook, remember playback position, etc. I haven't selected any of mine to be part of compilations or albums so I don't know if you need to make any adjustments there.

Have you tried organising it in iTunes via the right-click; get info option?

Not exactly sure what your problem is but I've organised audiobook files using that dialogue box before.
