Alright i'm setting up a pc for some relatives of mine, 2 kids (thankfully they don't use the internet that much so they won't spot that i don't actually know how old the kids are)

I've bubbled up the computer a bit put a few blocks and a few handys (icons with INTERNET and MUSIC) but i'm looking for some games/applications that would be suitable for kids. I gave them a go at "the maw" when they were over here but it seemed a TAD challenging (at least to figure out what to do). In my day i had paint and a mickey mouse print studio. Any ideas?

I could use some games that are free (preferably), easy to use, aimed at kids, downloadable (and playable offline) and no malware (even suspected). Doesn't have to be complicated or good (the younger one asked me could he play the space game... i had a picture of space as my desktop background so i don't think they'll notice the difference)

    Learning programs/fun applications that teach.

    Any other tibits

For protection i'd welcome any sugestions. I'm about to set up opendns (hopefully they don't ring up support and change it) and put a filter there. I don't want to make the computer a pain to use but at the same time i do want some sort of protection.

I've got avg as the antivirus and i've got windows firewall
If someone knows a firewall package that doesn't have any pop ups and does most of the stuff itself that would be great! I use comodo myself but i know they'd just go crazy with all the pop ups and wouldn't benifit them at all if they just kept pressing allow.
    Thanks guys

I still need an update on this. Nobody caters for kids these days on pcs no?
