I hope someone can help me.
I skirmished at the the Warehouse for the first time recently and didn't realise how vulnerable my G&G ACOG would be. It suffered a cracked front lens.
Would anyone have any idea if i c an get a replacement lens anywhere and how would I fit it?
    TIA,
    M

Also, any ideas how I can prevent it happening again if I do get it replaced?
    TIA

I have an aimpoint that the same thing happened to no joy on replacing lens and the only way....or the best way without spending any money....is to take it off you wont need it in the warehouse :p

Thank Bernie Mac, but in fact it worked really well, I could aquire and hit targets really quickly and keep from getting hit. it doesn't have any magnification but it hits right in the crosshairs!

Unfortunately, someone got it with a direct hit!

Just don't use it in the warehouse, you'll never be a that great a range to need it, and it'll just break again.

Murphys law mate, i've seen people with the camera lens on their phone get hit and broken when they left it in their pocket. Just bad luck

EDIT: I've also seen lens covers for EoTechs, not sure if you can get acog ones, they'd stop breakage anyway

if you check some of the bigger websites there are plastic covers that can be put on the rail in front. alternatively, you can cut some perspex and fit it yourself.

there is increasingly fitted extras you can get like this

as for fixing it....i guess it its already broken you may as well try give it a go...

You won't fix it, they're sealed units. Once the lenses are fitted, the retention piece is sealed and glued in place hermetically to prevent moisture or particles from entering the dioptre at any stage. To get that ring out you'd have to basically destroy it. I don't think anywhere does the lenses to suit anyway.

To prevent things like this happening, you can get, as Falls mentioned above, lens protectors. Basically a sacrificial lens that can be dumped and replaced in minutes if it takes a bad hit.
You can also get a device called a Kill Flash. It's a screw in piece, similar to the lens above, but has a honeycomb structure about 1/4" thick. Not only will it protect your lens from impacts, it'll stop anyone noticing any lens glare from it on a sunny day as well as keep the light entering the lens at a nice constant shade so you're not getting ridiculously bright spots when the sun is high.

Thanks guys, that's helpful info. I'll look into ordering a kill flash.
Great support from the Irish airsoft community as usual!!
