    Hi there

Got married over the past year. Thought that engagement and wedding rings were the end of it until I heard recently that there is also an eternity ring.

Would appreciate any comments as to when you should give an eternity ring. Also, any tips or idea's in relation to cost and where to start looking.

Looking forward to hearing from you and thanks in advance......

I think eternity rings are traditionally given on the birth of a baby or on the 1st wedding anniversary, in my opinion it's daft! My mum doesn't have one and I didn't know they existed until I got engaged, another marketing ploy by the jewellery companies and diamond industry in my opinion

I got engaged a couple of years ago, got an eternity ring 18 months ago, and getting the wedding ring in October - not sure if its all the wrong way round, but the sentiment means more! I've even seen Eternity Rings being sold as Wedding Bands, to be more confusing! If the ring is offered in love, then what does it matter!...:)

    Hi

My understanding of the eternity ring is that you get one after your first child.

I did get a half eternity ring (diamonds half way round) as a Christmas pressie a few years ago from my fiancee.

I do think though that its your own preference as to when you get give an eternity ring.
    :)

I married a year ago and my hubbie bought me an eternity ring for our 1st wedding anniversary. I was really touched that he thought to do that and the ring means alot to me.

I wouldn't worry about tradition. If you feel like buying your wife one, you don't need a reason.
