What was this film ??

    I watched a film years ago and want to buy the dvd, hard thing is that i dont know the name of it. It was about an ex-soldier, sniper to be exact. He was wanted for some reason, supposed to have killed someone i think. He decided to hide in the wild mountains, somewhere in the States. First the local Police tried to catch him and eventually the military, but he was used to this environment and picked them off one by one.....the great thing for me is that i cant remember the ending, so im dying for the dvd. As far as i know it was a well known actor with lead role. I thought it may be stallone or vandamme but cant find the film when i search their profiles. Any idea anyone ? It was a fairly well known film......

    Sounds similar to shooter. That may be too recent for it though.

    Rambo: First Blood perhaps? Though he wasn't a sniper i don't think.

    It must be Rambo First Blood even though John Rambo was an ex-green beret and not a sniper!

    Top flick, I forgot I got it on blu ray a while back, will watch it over the weekend!

    YES !!! You are right, that was the film.... i have just watched the trailer on youtube. The film is from 1982. Great film from back that far. Now to find a website that sell it ! Thanks again....sorted !!

    I must have watched that film at least 15 times, and still love it!

    Dont think I would love it as much if John Travolta or Al Pacino had of played John Rambo! Both were asked before Stallone! Apparently even Dustin Hoffman was offered the part, imagine!!

    I think he would of worked quite well actually. Would of been a different kind of movie though. He showed he had the scope to play slightly odd and crazy in the character "Ratso" from Midnight Cowboy.
