Major iPhone problem- help

Howdy

was just browsing YouTube and my videos refused to load

I returned to the SB and went back in an was greater with

"cannot connect to YouTube"

I found this odd as it had just been working, so I googled it

but low and behold I was greeted with the error message

"safari cannot open page because cannot find the server"

the above quote is more of a parphrase it was along those lines

I then tried yahoo and that seemed to work fine, I still couldn't connect to YouTube but I just thought it was down

I proceeded to dailymotion and when I tried to view a video insteamd of the usual video box there was a most non dailymotion like page there it gave ne the option to download said "file" or watch it in media player. This portion if the page seemed to be kinda placed over the normal dailymotion page.

I've looked around and it seems the YouTube error was regular enough a while ago. Iclarified have a tutorial on how to fix it from 2007 but it's obviously outdated. The google thing and the weird download page I couldn't find any info on. Is it a virus (the phone is jailbroken) and if so will a simple restore sort it out?

Dont have an iPhone but I have a jailbroken iPod touch 2G on 3.0 OS. Havent experienced this problem but then again havent used youtube on it in the last few days. It would happen from time to time though. Just try turning it off and on again, if that doesnt work try a restore. Make sure you have everything backed up though and that the custom firmware is still on your comp.

your internet provider is probably upc/chorus/ntl as there was some outage this evening, had the same issue with my iphone and laptop. should be ok now. see over in broadband forum for similar issue. hth.
