Ok i am looking at buying a vintage/classic car, mow i have looked at a mg midget, 1974, 1.5l, the problem is that i am only 21, i rang hibernian today and they wont insure a person under 23 on classic insurance, they told me most companies are the same so i didnt bother ringing any others.

Does anyone know if any companies have a limit of 21 and over, i thought this might be the case. Could i get my father insured on it and me as a named driver, how much would classic insurance be in the region of. I do have another car that i will use mostly, i only want the classic for the fun/leisurely sunday driving.

Use the search function. This has been answered time and time, and time and time, and time and time and time and time again.

In short, you won't get classic insurance.

Yeah - Fair point Dave. Welcome to boards.ie Outspan :D - Don't let the short reply put you off - I'm a helpful arsehole, if a bit rough around the edges sometimes. If you spend a bit of time here on classics you'll see your very questions being asked over and over again. It get's a bit old a bit quick - Nothing personal intended in the reply of course.

Is it time for a Sticky on this subject mods, for the sake of new and old users alike? It's not like it doesn't come up every few weeks....

yeah i agree sorry..bad day yesterday.... lots of ppl come on with this question and say well what if i try this and what if i try that...very few come back an post how they got on which usually means no joy..time for a sticky on this. my advice would be given your driving anyway to save a few squid till your 25 and treat yourself to a good solid classic that wont burn a hole in your pocket....best of luck
