Hi all. Apologies if this is not the correct place for this!

My battery died on me yesterday so the mechanic came and took the car (started first time with the portable jump leads!) he replaced the battery today with a new one and just wondering how much this should have cost in total (roughly of course and in the cork area!)

car is a 02 Renault megane. Thanks for the help!

Battery for your car would be around the €50 mark. I'm not sure about mobile mechanic rates though

I agree a battery is in the region of Eur50-Eur100 (depending on type) and without the mechanic's markup :P. I imagine the callout fee might be inbetween Eur30-Eur70.

    What did he charge you?

150eur in total which doesn't seem too bad I guess??

No, I thought you paid in that region. It is not too bad for someone doing the work for you. You would've saved about Eur60 doing it yourself but then again if you don't know how or are stranded you don't have a choice.
