    Lads,
I'm looking at getting an Espresso Machine and due to the size of my kitchen it cant be too big. I would love to get the Gaggia Classic but its just not going to fit comfortably on the counter top.
I saw this http://www.xpresscoffeeuk.co.uk/product.php/91/gaggia-cubika-traditional and I'd like to know if anyone has used one.
I'm open to other similar sized (and priced) coffee machines.

    Thanks

    HJ

That looks of very similar size to a classic!

You really can't make top-notch espresso on machines in that price range, and remember you'll need to budget for a decent grinder too... it's an expensive addiction!

Consider (some how) spending more... I bought a Gaggia Coffee and MM grinder 7 years ago and I wish I'd spent more. Yearly cost of ownership has been low (about 60 p/a, excluding repairs), but I now need to spend again. If i'd bumped my original spend from 400 to about 700 I'd probably have been set for another 7 years, maybe ;)

Yikes, I could if pushed spend what I would have paid for a Gagggia Classic but thats about it. Considering I want a compact espresso machine, what do you recommend?

    Gaggia Cubika Dimensions:
Height, 29.5 cm. Width, 25.5 cm. Depth, 20.5 cm.

    Gaggia Classic Dimensions:
Height, 38 cm. Width, 23cm. Depth, 24 cm.

There's not a lot of difference size wise apart from height and it should fit
most kitchens between counter and top cupboards.

I'd go for the classic if budget allows as the 3 way valve/solenoid will allow easier cleaning and backflushing.

Thanks for the replies lads but size in this case does matter :D

I'll probably get a moka pot for the time being until I find what I'm looking for.

I had a Cubika - thought it was pretty rubbish.

Aluminium portafilter - the whole thing was light and tinny.
